2. Exhaust muffler
From machine number X 28 323 087 the muffler will
be secured with IS M6x25 spline screws instead of
the previous IS M6x90x30 spline screws.
The original stud 0000 953 1024 will be replaced by
a new higher strength version 9121 347 1370.
Two new M6 flange nuts, with a larger flange
diameter, are used to mount the muffler to this stud.
The previously welded cover plate and the spark
arresting screen are now secured with one IS M4x6
spline screw in each case. The B 4.2x9.5 self-
tapping screw used to secure the spark arresting
screen and strap 4201 148 3001 used with the long
screws have been deleted.
Parts availability
In order to simplify stockkeeping and guarantee inter-
changeability, only the new version of the muffler will
be supplied as a replacement in future (with spark
arresting screen and all necessary mounting hard-
ware). In those countries where a spark arresting
screen is mandatory, it is only necessary to fit the
screen according to the illustrated instructions

3. Bearing with guard
3.1 V-belt guard, screws - 19 mm across flats,
eccentric adjuster
The original sheetmetal V-belt guard was replaced
some time ago with a new version made of polymer.
This change helps save weight (approx. 0.2 kg/
7 oz.) and improves functionality. The head size of
the three mounting screws was changed from
13 mm to 19 mm across flats at the same time and
the eccentric adjuster was modified.
The new eccentric adjuster is now rotated with the
blade of the combination wrench (slot or Torx
recess) instead of the previous captive 13 mm nut.
The head size of the M10x18 mounting screw for
the cutting wheel has also been changed from
13 mm to 19 mm across flats.
Parts availability
All versions of the "bearing with guard" supplied
from now on will include a polymer V-belt guard,
the associated mounting screws (19 mm a/f) and
the new eccentric adjuster.
To ensure interchangeability the new polymer V-
belt guard 4201 700 8114 will be supplied with two
washers. These washers must be fitted on older
machines which have mounting screws with 13 mm
head (see illustration).
3.2 Cast arm

The M10x35 hex. head screw (17 mm across flats)
previously used to mount the cast arm to the
crankcase will be replaced by a M10x40 hex. head

4. Tool kit
The original tool kit 4201 890 1401 will be replaced
from machine number X 28 322 498 with tool kit
4221 890 1400 in order to standardize the tool kits
and take into account the changeover to screws with
a head size of 19 mm a/f.
The individual tools of the original tool kit remain

5. Filter cover and air filter mounting on TS 360
In order to ease servicing and also to coincide with
the introduction of the new combination wrench
(see 4 .), the wing nut which secures the filter will 2
be modified from machine number X 27 499 236 1
and the filter cover screw fastener from machine
number X 27 592 415. The modified parts have
been designed so that they can also be installed
with the original combination wrench.
Parts availability
Only the new screw fastener (4201 140 9301) is
available from the factory. The replacement filter
cover 4201 140 1000 also includes the new version
of the screw fastener.
To ensure interchangeability the new wing nut
will only be supplied together with the flange

6. Carburetor (ZAMA discontinued)
Installation of the ZAMA carburetor models
LA S6 A (for TS 350) and LA S7 (for TS 360),
previously used as alternative equipment on the
production line, stopped some time ago. Only
Tillotson carburetors 4201 120 0604 (for TS 350) and
4201 120 0601 (for TS 360) are now installed on the
production line and supplied as replacements.
The component parts of the ZAMA carburetors
remain available as spares.

7. Elbow fitting on fuel tank
The position of the thread runout for the elbow
fitting in the fuel tank was modified from machine
number X 27 928 356. This change has made the
gaskets that were used as packing unnecessary.
As before, the elbow fitting is screwed in as far as
the stop until the retaining lugs engage. The O-ring
9645 945 4050 seals the joint in this position.
The elbow fitting 4201 007 1032 will be supplied
with three gaskets so that it can still be used for
older machines.

8.2 Water tank mounting kit
The shut-off cock and the valve in the water tank
have been modified to further improve their
function. The modified and original parts are
not interchangeable. For this reason the new
parts will only be supplied as a complete valve
assembly under part number 4201 700 6250.
The head size of the mounting screw on the water
tank bracket has been changed from 17 mm to
19 mm to take account of the new tool kit (see 4.). Page 10 of 11

9. Fuel pickup body
A new pickup body 0000 350 3500 will be installed
from machine number X 29 360 506. This change
has been made to further improve filtration and 1
standardize the parts used in several models.
Compared to the original pickup body 2
1115 350 3503, the new version has a larger 3
strainer. This results in a longer service life
and better filtration.

10. V-belt pulley
The original needle sleeve in the V-belt pulley will

by the needle sleeve 9529 003 4181 (with sealing
lips made of a more heat resistant material).
