Chain sprocket cover/side plate

In future, a newly developed side plate will be              Service note

In this connection the chain sprocket covers have
undergone minor modification to accommodate

the new side plates. The part numbers of the chain
sprocket covers have been changed.

The original versions of the side plates will remain
available for the original chain sprocket covers.

Assembly instructions

• crankcase
  Release M4 x 8 pan head screw from

• Remove side plate and pan head screw

• against
  Push new side plate over the bar studs and
          the crankcase

• and
  Place combination wrench over the bar studs

      use a plastic mallet to drive the side plate
    against the crankcase with one short, hard blow

Important:

After fitting a new side plate for the first time, mount the guide bar and chain sprocket cover and then tighten
down the M8 nuts to a torque load of about 15 to 20 Nm (11 to 15 lbf.ft).

Disassembly instructions

• Fit M8 nut on rear bar stud
• under
  Slip screwdriver end of combination wrench
         the side plate -
    twist the combination wrench about 45°
    counterclockwise

• 15

  Lift end of combination wrench about 10 -
      mm (1/2 in) until the side plate comes away
    from the bar studs

• remove
  Unscrew the M8 nut -
