The original steel shafts will be replaced with
aluminium shafts. This helps reduce the weight
of the unit from 4.2 kg (9.25 lb. to 3.8 kg (8.4 lb.).
The original and new shafts are completely
interchangeable.

2. Mowing head
2.1 Spool housing
The spool housing 4803 710 3600 has been modi-
fied to further enhance performance. The changes
include a projecting flange (1) and rounded lugs (2)
which are designed to help prevent the cutting lines
being bent back and snapped off when they come
into contact with solid obstacles. This helps ensure
that the minimum line length necessary for semi-
automatic feed is maintained at all times.
It also reduces the amount of nylon line that is wa-
sted due to premature breakages.
Note: The part number of the modified spool
housing remains unchanged.
2.2 Prewound spools
The prewound spool 4004 710 4304, previously avai-
lable only in the U.S. and Canada, is now
available with immediate effect in Europe, too. fo
