The clutch without linings
4116 160 2002 (introduced in TI 18.94) will be
replaced from machine number X 30 931 357 by
the original clutch 4116 160 2001 which has shoes
with linings.
Service note:
Since the clutch drum diameters are different, the
individual parts of clutches with and without linings
cannot be mixed or installed together.
For this reason a complete "clutch with drum"
4116 160 2051 must be used as a replacement for
a clutch (or clutch drum) without linings.

2. Gearhead
Only modified versions of the replacement
gearhead and gear housing will be available from
the factory when the new machine versions are
launched on the market (see 3). The new gear 1
housing is made of aluminium instead of a
magnesium alloy. A ball bearing with higher heat 43
resistance is used to support the gearhead output
shaft. 5

The scope of supply of the new replacement gear- 10
head does not include the thrust plate (with guard
washer), thrust washer and collar nut. This is to 7
ensure that a universal replacement gearhead is 11
available for use with all models. 8

3. New versions
A new version of the FS 420 is to be included in
the product line for special applications with the
brush knife. An existing special version of the
FS 360 is to be updated.
Both these versions will come standard with an
aluminium gear housing (see 2)
and can be identified by the following modifications
in the area of the cutting tool mounting:
- Thrust plate 4116 710 3810
(65 mm dia.) is installed in place of 4116 710 3800
(60 mm dia.)
- The hardened guard ring 4116 717 2700 is fitted
in place of rider plate 4119 713 3100.
Note
The deflector 4116 710 2701 and limit stops for
circular saw blades cannot be installed together
with the new thrust plate.

4. Spark plug terminal
The original spark plug terminal 4116 405 1000,
which was shaped and functioned like a cover, will
be replaced from machine number X 30 629 622

by spark plug terminal 1106 405 1000 and a
separate cover.

The cover is secured by means of an M4 x 25
screw and a threaded insert anchored in the
shroud.
Service note and parts availability 4
Spark plug terminal 1106 405 1000 can only be 5 3 4
used together with the new cover. Therefore, for
the initial changeover, the new spark plug terminal 6
is supplied together with the cover and mounting
screw under part number 4116 400 7150.

The new threaded insert is integrally molded in the
shroud and, like the cover, is not available as a

The starter cup 4116 195 0500 has been modified
in connection with the development of new models
and has been given the new part number
4223 195 0600. The modified starter cup (and the
original version) should also be used as a
replacement for models FS 160 through FS 280
and BR 320/400, SR 320/ 400.
