1. Ignition module
A new ignition module (EY-V) will be introduced
on model 064 and 066 saws from machine number
X 31 067 164.
1.1 CDIC (064)
The original version 1122 400 1303 (with electronic
speed governor) will be replaced by version
1122 400 1311 (without electronic speed governor).
Changes to the ignition leads, short circuit wires and
spark plug terminals will be carried out in this
connection.
In order to standardize parts the spark plug terminal
(75°), leg spring and cover used in the 066 will also
be installed in the 064 in future.
1.2 CDIC A (066)
The original ignition module 1122 400 1307 (with
electronic speed governor) will be replaced by
version 1122 400 1311 (without electronic speed
governor). This means that the LED 1122 400 5000
and wiring harness 1122 440 3000/05 will also be
deleted. A separate ground wire, short circuit wire
and insulating tube will be installed in place of the
wiring harness.
1.3 066 versions (USA/CDN)
The original version 0000 400 1300 will be replaced
by version 1122 400 1311.
In the future, wiring harness 1122 440 3007 will be
installed in all saw versions with heated handles. Page 2 of 5

Features of new ignition module:
● Practically no backfiring* ● The air gap must be maintained exactly.
● Defined cut-in RPM If it is too wide, the cut-in threshold will not be

2. Flywheel
The position of slot in the flywheel will be changed
when the EY-V ignition is introduced.
Furthermore, there will be a change in the magnet X P
material.
Replacement flywheels differ from those installed
on the production line in that they have a second
key slot. The two key slots are marked with the
letters "P" and "X".
In the event of a repair, the flywheel must be fitted
in slot "X" (sometimes marked "B" on model
064) for ignition modules without speed cut-off, X P
or slot "P" for ignition modules with electronic
speed governor (CDIC and CDIC A).

If CDIC A or CDIC ignition modules are exchanged
for EY-V ignition modules (1122 400 1311), the
flywheels must be replaced by the new versions
and fitted in the correct slot as described above.
Note
The LED has no function once a new EY-V ignition
module EY-V is installed. It may therefore be
removed and replaced by plug 1122 432 2300.
The part numbers of the flywheels remain
unchanged.

3. Carburetor
New carburetors will be installed in models 064
and 066 from machine number X 30 982 432 WJ 48 WJ 51/52
(064). They have been adapated to suit the EY-V
ignition modules introduced in chapter 1.
This involved modification of the fixed jets, high
speed adjusting screws and cup plugs.

The new carburetors come in three versions:
● WJ 48 for STIHL 064, 066 Standard
● WJ 51 for STIHL 066 Magnum
● WJ 52 for STIHL 066 with carb heating (Arctic)
The maximum permissible engine speeds have
also been changed as follows:
● On STIHL 064 from 12,000 rpm to 13,000 rpm
● On STIHL 066 (CDIC A) from 13,500 rpm
(cut-off speed) to 13,000 rpm
