Model STIHL 024, 026 Chain Saws - Series 1121
Tank vent (valve, filter),
tank housing (modified shape, tank vent in scope of supply
Model 024 and 026 chain saws from machine
number X 30 976 775 will come equipped with an
optimized tank venting system. The original tank
vent (with vent insert and self-tapping screw) has
been deleted and replaced by a valve, a filter made
of sintered material and a cap. The shape of the
tank housing has been modified in this connection.

Description: Equalization of pressure between
the fuel tank and atmosphere takes place via the
valve (1) when the pressure differential is approx.
0.3 bar (4.5 psi). The sintered filter (2) helps 3 2
prevent dirt entering the valve and the tank during
this process. The cap (3) protects the filter from
damage and contamination.
The air inlet/outlet is through the opening in the
cap (see arrow) which is situated in a low-dust
zone of the carburetor box.

The parts of the new tank vent can only be
installed in the modified version of the tank
housing. In order to guarantee easy replacement,
modified tank housings are only supplied together
