3.2.=====Service note for saws with
=========quick chain tensioner

Replacement engine housings 1123 020 3005
(standard) and 1123 020 3006 (easy start) come
with two collar studs of the same length.

If the engine housing is used for a saw with a
quick chain tensioner, the rear collar stud (1) must
be replaced by a collar screw (2) 1123 664 2402
(see TI 42.94).
                                                                     1
The collar screw (2) 1123 664 2402 can be

taken from the faulty engine housing or ordered

separately.
                                                                             2

                                                                                 135TI024 SC
• Use M8 stud puller 5910 893 0501 to

       unscrew the rear collar stud (1) VORZO\
       from the replacement engine housing.
       Unscrewing the stud too quickly may

       damage the thread in the engine housing.

• Remove the collar screw (2) from the faulty =============fo
       engine housing.
• Apply a little oil to the thread of the new or
       original collar screw (2).

• Position collar screw (2) in hole in replacement
       engine housing and rotate it counterclockwise 2
       until it drops down slightly. Then screw home
       clockwise and tighten down to approx. 8 Nm

       (6.0 lbf.ft). The collar of the screw must butt

       against the engine housing (like the collar
       stud).

                                                                                   135TI025 SC

• Install engine housing as described in the

       service manual.
• Remove the spiked bumper 1123 664 0501
       from the faulty engine housing and mount it

       to the replacement engine housing. Tightening
       torque 3.7 Nm (2.8 lbf.ft).

For safety reasons, spiked bumper 1123 664 0501
must be fitted to the engine housing of machines
with a quick chain tensioner. The spikes of this
spiked bumper are longer and help provide better
contact with the wood during cutting.

4.=Standard chain sprocket cover

The standard chain sprocket cover will be made
from a different material in future. Metal rings (see
arrows) will be press-fitted in the area of the collar
studs. The part number remains unchanged.

                                                                                                         135TI026 SC

5.=====Decompression valve, service notes
5.1.===Leakage test

Plug 1122 025 2200 must be installed in place of
the decompression valve before performing the

leakage test (see service manual). The decompres-
sion valve can be removed and installed with a
standard commercial 13-mm deep well socket.

Tightening torque 14 Nm (10 ft lbs.).

5.2.===Use locking strip only when

=======decompression valve is closed

The decompression valve must be closed before

the locking strip 0000 893 5903 is inserted in the
spark plug hole. If the decompression valve is left
open, it may be bent by the piston pressing against

the locking strip.
