6. Summary fo
1. Loop handle, "J" handle
The loop handles (1 to 4) and the "J" handle (5)
will be replaced on the brushcutter models listed
in the table (see 5.) by two new optimized loop
handles (6 and 7).
1
Reasons for changes and benefits of 2
new handles
• Improved loop handle ergonomics -
this in turn improves the unit’s handling and
helps reduce operator fatigue.
• Extended applications for brushcutters with
4
loop handle - grass cutting blades and brush
knife may be used with new loop handle (7) 3
equipped with barrier bar (8).
• 5
Loop handle (6) can be quickly converted to
version (7) and vice versa - it is only necessary
to mount the barrier bar (8).

The barrier bar (8) on the loop handle helps
prevent the operator getting too close to the
cutting tool in most situations: If the operator pulls
the unit towards himself in a sweeping motion, the
barrier bar makes contact with his body and thus
helps to reduce the chance of the unit being
moved too far to the rear. The cutting tool
therefore remains a certain distance (A) from the
operator’s feet. 8
Grass cutting blades and brush knives may
only be used on loop handle brushcutters
with barrier bar (8) and the universal
002TI020 KN
deflector 4119 713 4500.
A
Service note
In the future the factory will ship some brushcutter
models with the loop handles packed loosely as
mounting kits, i.e. no longer mounted to the drive
tube. An instruction sheet is supplied with these
kits to illustrate the use of sleeve 4121 791 7200
depending on the drive tube diameter.
The standard loop handles are mounted to the
drive tube in the same way as the original versions.
002TI021 KN
Kit 4130 007 1030 is available for conversion of
models FS 74, 76, 88 and 108 with the normal
loop handle to a "loop handle with barrier bar". The
kit includes a shoulder strap, deflector, barrier bar
and the instruction sheet on the use of sleeve
4121 791 7200. After conversion, grass cutting
blades and brush knives may be mounted and
used together with deflector 4119 713 4500. Page 3 of 8

2. Loop handle conversion kits
Up to now the loop handle kits (see items 43 to 48
in Summary) have been available for bike handle-
to-loop handle conversions. Experience has
shown that there is hardly any demand for these
kits. For this reason no new versions of these kits
will be available when the new loop handles are
introduced. The original kits will be supplied only
as long as factory stocks last.
The individual component parts of the handles
may be used for conversions in future.
3. Straight drive tube (instruction label)
The instruction labels on the drive tubes had to be
changed to comply with country-specific licensing
regulations. This was used as an opportunity to
standardize the instruction labels at the same time.
As a result, a single standardized drive tube will
be used on some models instead of two different
versions or country-specific drive tubes for
machines with a loop handle or bike handle. For
this reason the part numbers of the drive tubes
002TI022 KN
have been changed for some models.
4. Introduction of changes
The modifications will be introduced immediately
on the production line. However, depending on the
inventory situation, original and/or new versions
of the machines may be supplied for a temporary
period. Page 4 of 8
