Crankshaft 1122 030 0407 will be replaced by
version 1122 030 0408 from machine number
X 33 917 066K=qhe new crankshaft (1122 030 0408)
features a larger big end bearing and is approx.
4 mm (0.16 in) longer than the original version.

1.2=Crankcase= =Wrap handle only

The crankcase has been modified in connection
with the above-mentioned changes.
Crankcase 1122 020 2102 will be replaced by

version 1122 020 2103. The difference between
the original and new version of the crankcase is
the greater distance between the bearings.

The seat for the oil seals has been enlarged.
Oil seal BS 13.5x20x4 will be replaced by version
                                                                                          137TI016 KN

BS 15x22x4. Furthermore, the seat for the

generator has been changed.

 This line modification does not apply to the
 066 Magnum with standard flush-cut handle bar
 at this time.

2.=Ignition system =Wrap handle only
2.1=Flywheel

A lightweight flywheel will be installed in future to
further enhance performance.

The lightweight flywheel comprises:
1 Steel hub                                                                             2
2 Polymer blades
3 Magnesium bushing for starter pawl
4 High performance magnets

This composite construction has enabled the 1

weight of the flywheel to be reduced by approx. 3

15%.
The reduction in mass means there is less 4
mechanical load on the crankshaft. A universal

ignition module and a generator with a higher
output will be installed (in model 046 too) to
coincide with the introduction of the lightweight

                                                                                            137TI014 KN
flywheel.
Note:=====the new flywheel can only be used in
==========conjunction with the new crankshaft
==========and new crankcase.====================================fo
2.2.=Ignition module

The ignition module has been modified to suit the
special characteristics of the lightweight flywheel.
The original version 1122 400 1311 has been
deleted and replaced by version 0000 400 1303.

All features of the new ignition module are the
same as those of the well-known EY-V module.

See TI 51.94 in this connection. The new version
can be identified by the red ground wire (see
arrow) instead of the black wire of the original
version.

Service note
                                                                          137TI017 KN

The new version of the ignition module must not
be combined with the original flywheel and vice
versa since this could cause starting problems or
running problems at idle speed.

It is essential to maintain an air gap of ≤0.5 mm
(≤0.020 in) on the new ignition module. If the air

gap is not set properly, the switching threshold will
be displaced upwards and may make it impossible
to start the machine.

2.3.=Generator

A more powerful generator will be installed in
connection with the modification described under
item 2.1. The original version 1122 404 3500 will
be replaced by version 1128 404 3501. This
generator allows a combination of handle heating
and carburetor heating.

3.===Wiring harness

Wiring harness 1122 440 3008 (version for carb
heating) will be replaced by wiring harness
1122 440 3009. The new version can be used in
machines with both handle heating DQG carburetor
heating. Wiring harness 1122 440 3008 remains avai-
lable for machines up to NoK=X 33 917 065
Wiring harness 1122 440 3007 will continue to

                                                                                                        137TI015 KN
be used for machines equipped only with handle
heating.

4.=Electric handle heating

4.1=Front handle =version with handle heating

The original front handle 1122 790 1712 has been

replaced by the version 1122 790 1713. The heating
element installed in the new front handle has a
higher electrical resistance (see also item 4.3).

4.2=Wrap-around handle =version with handle
and carburetor heating

The original wrap-around handle 1122 790 3604 has
been replaced by the version 1122 790 3607.
The heating element installed in the new version
has a higher electrical resistance (see also item 4.3).

The wrap-around handle 1122 790 3603 will continue
to be used for machines which have neither handle
heating nor carburetor heating.

4.3=Heating elements

Heating elements with a higher electric resistance
will be installed in front handles/wrap-around
handles in the future.

The electric resistance of the heating element in

the rear handle has also been increased. The new
element 1128 434 5000 differs from the original
version in that it has thinner printed conductors which
run in wavy lines.

The resistances in the following table refer to a
                                                                                                 132TI003

temperature of +25 °C (77°F).

Service notes
• If the new flywheel 1122 400 1218 is installed in a saw up to machine number X 33 917 065 , the heating
   element 1128 434 5000 must be bonded in the rear handle. Furthermore, the new version of the front
   handle/wrap-around handle has to be fitted in place of the original version. The different front handles
   can be identified by the resistance of the heating element - see table above. A machine with the original
   front handle/wrap-around handle or the original heating element 1125 434 5000 and the new flywheel
   1122 400 1218 must not be run at full throttle for more than about 4 minutes at a time since the heating
   elements might otherwise burn out.
• The original front handle/wrap-around handle and the original heating element 1125 434 5000 may only
   be used in saws with flywheel 1122 400 1216.
