Model 044 Chainsaws - Series 1128
Carburetor =Walbro replaces Zama
The original Zama carburetors will be replaced by
Walbro carburetors. This change helps further
improve performance.
The component parts of the original carburetors
(Zama) will remain available as spares. Type data
is stamped on the carburetors.

The original C3M-S5G carburetor 1128 120 0617
has been replaced by the HD-10 A carburetor
1128 120 0619.
Service note
If the HD-10 A carburetor is installed in an older
saw (up to machine number X 026 452 476) to
replace a carburetor which has no compensator
connection, the saw will have to be converted to a
compensator. See TI 54.92, chapter "Air filter".
2.===044 arctic
The original C3M-S24 carburetor 1128 120 0618
has been replaced by the HD-11 carburetor
1128 120 0620. The HD-11 carburetor is the only
replacement carburetor for all 044 arctics. The
differences between the HD-11 and the HD-10 A
are the thermostatic switch 1128 430 0501 and
few pieces of mounting hardware. See chapter 4
"New spare parts".
Service note
The C3M-S23 carburetor 1128 120 0616 was
installed in saws equipped only with carburetor
heating (up to machine number X 30 991 111).
This carburetor is no longer available.
The HD-11 can be installed together with heating
element 1128 434 5101 by modifying the wiring
harness as follows:

• Disconnect thermostatic switch/wiring harness.
• Pull tab receptacle off the heating element.
• Remove the carburetor.
• Cut off the tab receptacle.
• Slip the insulating tube 1121 442 0402 over
the wire.
• Use crimping tool 5910 890 8210 to attach
terminal socket 1118 431 6700.
Proper crimping is described in TI 47.92,
page 5.
• Install new carburetor and heating element

1128 434 5101 (see TI 07.95).

Connect switch and heating element to wiring
harness, slip insulating tube over connector
and position wires as shown in chapter 6 of
TI 07.95.
