ElastoStart =special accessory
A newly developed ElastoStart is available as a ElastoStart
special accessory for the above models with Standard grip
immediate effect. It greatly enhances operator
comfort during starting.
No changes to the rewind starter are necessary
Tensile force
to retro-fit the ElastoStart. Only the installation
procedure itself varies slightly from that used for
the standard starter grip (see service notes).

The construction of the new ElastoStart grip
differs from that of the version already installed in
a number of chainsaw models (see TI 29.92).
The ElastoStart consists of the following parts:
1===drip 1 5
2===`~p
3===pleeve 3
4===eelical spring
5===t~sher 4
6===ptarter rope

In the relaxed position, the sleeve (3), helical spring
(4) and washers (5) are held in place in the grip by 7
the stop lug (7).
During cranking, the force applied by the operator
pulling the grip is transmitted via the grip (1), lower 1
washer (5), helical spring (3), upper washer (5) and 5
sleeve (3) to the rope (6).
As this force is opposed by engine compression the 4
helical spring is compressed. The peak forces which
occur on each compression stroke are cushioned by
the spring. 5
The forces which occur at the grip after the first 3
compression stroke are practically uniform.

This greatly enhances starting comfort. 6
If the starting force exceeds a specific level (determin-
ed by the helical spring), the spring is fully
compressed and cranking effort is then transmitted
directly from the grip to the rope.
Service notes
Repairs are limited to replacement of the starter
rope. A faulty ElastoStart can only be replaced
as a complete assembly.
====Installing ElastoStart with starter rope
• Thread the starter rope through the rope guide
====bushing=from outside=the=st~rter=housingK
• Thread the rope into the rope rotor and secure
it with ~=simple overhand=knot.

Replacing ElastoStart starter rope
• Ease the cap off the starter grip.
• Remove remaining rope from the grip and
rope rotor.
• Fit the starter rope 0000 195 8200 in the same
way as the standard rope, but only secure it in
the grip with ~=simple overhand=knot.
• Refit cap in the grip.
000TI011 KN
Starter rope 0000 195 8200 must be used to
guarantee correct operation of the ElastoStart.

Most of these PDFs embed fonts with a shifted character map, so the text above was recovered rather than copied — read it as a faithful but imperfect transcription, and treat the page image above each block as the authority where the two disagree — the figures exist only there, because they are vector drawings that text extraction cannot keep.
