1.=Augers
The original auger bits (Ø 40, 60, 90, 120, 150 and 200 mm/1.6", 2.4", 3.5", 4.7", 5.9" and 7.9") will be repla-
ced by new versions. The drill heads (tips) of the new augers are equipped with “double-edged” blades.
When the first cutting edge becomes dull, the blade is simply turned over. This doubles the edge life.
The original 170 mm (6.7") dia. planting hole drill has been deleted from the line and will be available only as
long as existing stocks last. It will be replaced by a new 260 mm (10.2") dia. version which will be available
from about June this year.
Service note
The drill head 4311 680 2004 for the original 40 mm (1.6") dia. augers will only remain available as long as
existing factory stocks last. Drill head 4404 680 3050 should then be used as a replacement.

2.=Cover =shroud=, air guide plate
For some time the air guide plate has been fixed to the cover (shroud) with four steel rivets instead of the ori-
ginal three plastic rivets. New covers and air guide plates therefore have an additional mounting hole.
Service note
If new and original parts have to be combined for a repair, it will be necessary to drill out the rivet holes on
the new part so that the original-type rivets can be used.

3.=Padding
Support padding 4311 748 2500 has been availa-
ble as a special accessory for some time to further
enhance user comfort.
The padding is secured to the left-hand user side
of the handlebar with 4 “Velcro” strips
(see illustration).
The user can support the earth auger during opera-
tion with his thigh against the padding.
