2. 044: Carburetor box cover (rib shortened)

1.=044: Tank housing

The original tank housing 1128 350 0804 will be
replaced by tank housing 1128 350 0815 with a
new tank vent and additional lugs for holding the
wiring in position.

1.1=Tank vent

The original tank vent 1128 350 5805 will be repla-
ced by valve (1) 1110 353 1600.

The sintered filter (2) helps prevent dirt entering
                                                                                     3               2

the valve. Cap (3) protects the sintered filter from
icing up.

                                                                                                         132TI012 KN

                                                          Left:     Original tank vent

                                                          Right:    New version

Air enters the tank through the new valve
(see arrows) as the volume of fuel in the tank redu-
ces.
However, air cannot flow from the inside outwards.
Pressure can therefore build up in the tank while
the engine is stopped if the fuel is heated by sun-
light or other influences.

Open the fuel filler cap slowly so that any
excess pressure that has built up is released
                                                                                                         145TI017 KN

gradually and fuel does not escape
unexpectedly.
