1. 023 C: Cylinder (without decompression valve)
2. Carburetor (fixed jet in place of H screw)
3. Grommet (openings for L and LA screws only)

The new CARB and EPA regulations (see TI
27.97) are met with the modifications described
below.
1.=023 C: Cylinder
Decompression valve 1123 020 9400 has been
deleted on the U.S. version of model 023 C.
"Cylinder with piston" 1123 020 1214 (without
decompression hole) is available for repair
purposes.
The original "cylinder with piston" 1123 020 1216
remains available for older machines.
2.=Carburetor
The original carburetors will be replaced by carbu-
retors with a fixed jet and part-load jet:

2.1=Fixed jet
The fixed jet is installed in the new carburetors in-
stead of the H screw and provides the optimum 1
fuel mixture during full-load operation. 0D[LPXP
engine RPM is preset by the fixed jet and can-
not be altered.
The fixed jet is screwed into the bottom of the
metering chamber and is removed and installed
for cleaning.
2.2=Part-load jet

At a given throttle opening, the part-load jet adds a 2
defined amount of fuel to the air flowing through
the carburetorK=============================================1Z===m~rt-load jet
This jet is press-fitted in the carburetor body and 2Z===cixed jet
cannot be removed. It may be cleaned with
compressed air.
2.3=Low speed screw
The low speed screw is sealed against the
carburetor body with the O-ring (1) and washer (2)
to avoid any secondary air entering through this
tapped bore.

2.4=Adjustment
Idle speed and low speed screws are adjusted in
the normal way as described in the owne’s manual
(standard setting L = 1)
3.=Grommet
The original grommet 1123 123 7500 will be
replaced by grommet 1123 123 7502. The new
grommet has only two openings, i.e. for the L and
LA screws. It is colored gray for easy identification.

4.=Carburetor box cover
The pictogram has been changed to suit the new
situation. It now refers only to the low speed screw.
Carburetor box covers without pictogram are
supplied as replacements.
The part number 1123 140 1900 remains
unchanged.
The carburetor box cover 1123 140 1910
