1.=Gearhead
1.1=Different gear ratio,
=splined output shaft
A new gearhead with a different gear ratio will be
installed in place of the original version in models
FS 80 and 85 from machine number X 35 221 994.
This modification is designed to help improve the
transmission of power between the engine and cut-
ting tool.
Furthermore, the new gearhead output shaft is spli-
ned (arrows) where it connects to the thrust plate /
thrust washer.
In order to further standardize spare parts, the new
gearhead with its splined output shaft will also be
available as a replacement for models FS 44 and
FS 74.

The modification to the gearhead was announced Left: Original version
for model FS 44 in TI 19.96. The O-ring mentioned Right: New version
in that TI, chapter 2.2, item 22, was not introduced
and has been deleted from the parts list (see Sum-
mary under See 1.2, item 17).

1.4=Parts availability
To standardize replacements on existing machines
and gearhead versions, new gearheads will only
be supplied together with the new versions of the
thrust plate (14) and thrust washer (16).
1.5=Service note
The DG screws (3) in the new gearhead
4137 640 0100 must be tightened to a torque of
8.5 Nm (6.3 lbf.ft).
