1. Carburetors
Carburetors 1122 120 0616 and 1122 120 0614 for
older machines will be replaced by the new
carburetor 1122 120 0621. This standardization of
parts only applies to machines without EPA
approval.
066: WJ-65 (1122 120 0616) replaced by WJ-67 (1122 120 0621)
066 M: WJ-51 (1122 120 0614) replaced by WJ-67 (1122 120 0621)

2. Air filter system
Typical characteristics of the new air filter system
are excellent efficiency, a long service life and
simple handling. The filter only needs cleaning
when there is a noticeable loss of engine power.
No tools are required to remove the air filter.
Filter cover, air filter and base are pulled together
when the filter cover mounting screw is tightened.
The sealing lips around the air filter then ensure a
perfect seal so that combustion air intake only
takes place through the filter.
The 066 can be adapted to suit different operating
conditions by installing different air filters.
Conversions can be performed simply without the
need for tools:

• Remove the filter cover.
• Change the air filter.
• Refit the filter cover.

Green, wire mesh element for normal operating
conditions and winter operation.

2.2 HD filter
Black, for dry and very dusty operating sites.
This air filter is protected against coarse dirt by a
replaceable dry felt prefilter.
2.3 Intake air flow
The new flange has been designed to make the
flow of intake air more efficient. This modification
and the changes in 2.4 and 2.5 produce a higher
intake efficiency which helps boost torque and
optimize engine performance.

2.4 Baffle
The new version of the baffle has been designed
so that it can be clipped to the flange.
The filter insert (foam) is no longer required for
new machines.

2.5 Filter cover
The new filter cover is equipped with a shutter 1
which can be moved as required from the summer
position to the winter position. In the winter
position, heated air is drawn in from around the
cylinder to help prevent carburetor icing. The
shutter must be returned to the summer position
when outside temperatures rise to about +20 °C
(68 °F). This is essential to avoid engine running 2

problems and overheating.

3. Shroud
Changes were made to the shroud in connection
with the modifications described in chapter 2.
Its part number has been changed from
1122 080 1606 to 1122 080 1607. The new
nameplate 1122 967 1505 must be used with the
new shroud. The original versions of the shroud
and nameplate remain available as spares.
4. Carburetor housing/tank housing
The carburetor housing has been widened to
create a bigger filter compartment. This, in turn,
has increased the tank volume by about 5%.

The original versions of the carburetor housing

and tank housing remain available for older
machines.
The tank vent 1122 350 5850 introduced in TI
36.97 will be replaced by tank vent 1122 350 5803.
The new version of the tank vent is routed to a
chamber (1) in the carburetor housing so that it is
protected from dust and dirt.
Tank vent 1122 350 5850 remains available as a
spare for machines up to X 39 176 185.

5. Fan housing/segment/rewind spring
Fan housing 1122 080 1808 will be replaced by
fan housing 1122 080 1816 from machine number
X 39 176 186.
Fan housing with rewind starter 1122 080 2110 will
be supplied in future in place of the original version
1122 080 1815.
The new version of the fan housing features larger

inlets for a higher air flow volume and helps reduce
dirt build-up.

The rewind spring is accommodated in a housing
and secured inside the fan housing by means of
two IS M4x10 spline screws.
Furthermore, a new segment 1122 084 7809 will
be installed. It has been modified to fit the new fan
housing.

6. Switch shaft
The switch shaft has been modified to optimize
switch movements (shorter travel). The original
