Model 034, 036 Chainsaws - Series 1125

Contents

1. Tank housing (mushroom valve, intake hose)

2. Choke lever/throttle rod
3. Ignition module

1. Tank housing

A modified tank housing will be installed in all

versions from machine number X 39 108 850.

The original two-valve valve, which allows air to
enter and leave the fuel tank, will be deleted and
replaced by mushroom valve 1110 353 1600. The
new valve only allows air to enter the fuel tank.

                                                                                        145TI016 KN

                                                     Left: Original valve
                                                     Right: New valve

Function
The consumption of fuel during saw operation
creates low pressure in the tank. This causes the
mushroom valve to open and allow air to flow into

the tank so the tank and atmospheric pressures
are equalized.

Important:
Pressure can build up inside the fuel tank as a
                                                                                       145TI017 KN

result of radiated heat or sunlight. Therefore,
always open the filler cap slowly so that any
excess pressure may be released gradually and
fuel spills are avoided.

The S-shaped fuel intake hose 1127 358 7705 will
be installed as standard in place of the original
straight intake hose 1119 358 7700.
The new hose requires a larger opening in the tank
housing.

Replacement tank housings will also come with the
larger opening. To ensure trouble-free repairs, the
replacement tank housings will be supplied
together with the new intake hose for about the
next 2 years (see Summary).

Note

This modification will be introduced at a later date

on heated handle and "QS" versions. However, the
new version of the tank housing may be used for
replacement purposes.
