New Power Tool Attachments

STIHL HL =Attachment Hedge Trimmer========================-  Series 4230
STIHL FH =Attachment Power Scythe=========================-  Series 4230

STIHL HT =Attachment Pole Pruner==========================-  Series 4138

The cutting attachments of the existing single-purpose HL 75 / HL 75 K hedge trimmers, FH 75 power scythe

and HT 75 / HT 70 pole pruners will also be available as separate attachments in the future. This offers the
owners of many STIHL brushcutters and power tools the opportunity to use their powerheads for additional
applications. For example, it is now possible to quickly convert an FS 85 brushcutter (with loop handle) to a

hedge trimmer, a power scythe or a pole pruner.

The attachments are supplied ready to install under the following sales designations:
• +/ (hedge trimmer attachment; 0°, 30° or
   0°...90° versions available)
• )+ (power scythe attachment)
• +7 (pole pruner attachment)

Notes on combinations of limited suitability

Brushcutters with bike handle and
HL attachment
Brushcutters with a bike handle can also be

combined with the HL attachment. However, for

ergonomic reasons, this combination cannot be
wholly recommended for vertical cuts because of
the less favorable leverage compared to units with

a loop handle. This restriction also applies to
applications where mostly horizontal cuts are
performed (e.g. cutting the tops of hedges or

bushes or trimming low-growing shrubs).

HL 75 K hedge trimmer and FH attachment
This combination is possible, but of limited
suitability for certain applications. The shorter shaft
reduces the reach necessary for cuts near ground
level and thus impairs operator comfort.

Mounting instructions

Push attachment’s gearhead on to the power tool

drive tube as far as the stop. The end of the drive
tube must not be visible through the gap in the

clamp since the drive shaft is not otherwise
properly engaged and could be damaged during
operation. Follow the instructions in the owner’s
manual supplied with the attachment.
