Preparations
. Pull hand guard towards front handle, releasing
chain brake
. Release and remove hexagon nuts from chain
sprocket cover 5
. Remove the chain sprocket cover

. Remove the bar and chain

. When the brake is off, the brake cable (5) must
hang loosely, i.e. no tension, in the crankcase

. Remove screw (1)

. Take out the spline socket head screws (3) and
remove the cover (4)
. Press down the interlock lever (6) all the way
and hold it there

. The brake band (7) must locate snugly, i.e. no
play, against the points (A) in the crankcase
. Release twist lock (1) and remove the
carburetor box cover (2)

. Release the interlock lever (6)
. Check free travel of interlock lever (6) by . Release and remove the slotted nuts (3)
pressing it down slowly. Free travel must be
within the range marked (B) on the front end of . Remove the air filter (4)

must not move.

. Loosen the clamp screw (5)
. Use 6mm open-end wrench to adjust free travel
with nut (6)
. Turn nut clockwise (right) to reduce free travel
or counterclockwise (left) to increase free travel
. Lock the nut in position with clamp screw (5)
Reassemble all parts in the reverse sequence.
