Model E 140 Chainsaws - Series 1208

E 140 with overload circuit breaker

Model E 140 chainsaws from serial number
1 43 792 970 will be equipped with an overload 1 3

overload. 2

A mechanical overload occurs if, for example, the
motor speed is “lugged down” by the operator using
excessive feed force or the chain being pinched in
the cut. 5

Note
If the overload circuit breaker has interrupted the
power supply:
. Pull the guide bar out of the cut
. Wait for the overload circuit breaker to cool
        down
. Disengage the chain brake if necessary, see
chapter “Chain Brake” in owner’s manual
. Press in button of overload circuit breaker as far
        as stop.
If the motor does not start when you switch on,
you can assume the overload circuit breaker
        has not cooled down sufficiently.
Wait a little longer and then press in the button
        again as far as stop
As soon as the saw runs:
. Allow the saw to run off-load for about 15
seconds. This helps cool the motor windings
and prevents the overload circuit breaker being
        tripped again
