In the near future a new cover washer
1121 162 1001 will be installed between the oil 5
pump and clutch. It is designed to help prevent
consequential damage to the crankcase and oil 3
pump in the event of a clutch spring failure. To
accommodate the cover washer, it was necessary to T0
modify the clutch carrier and the clutch shoe
retainers.
Service note 2
The cover washer may be installed only together
with the modified clutch carrier and shoe retainers.
Do not attempt to fit the cover washer in the
previous clutch (with carrier 1121 162 3205) - it must
be installed without the cover washer.
Installation: The word “TOP” on the cover washer
must face the clutch.

2. Tank housing (tank vent),
pickup body
An improved tank vent will be installed from serial
number 2 46 606 073. The diameter and height of

the stub on the tank housing have been changed in
this connection. The previous sintered filter 2 3
1121 358 1800 will be replaced by the version
5
1122 358 1800. A self-tapping screw and a grub
screw are fitted in the two air inlet holes in the new 1 1
tank vent to restrict the cross section.
The previous fuel pickup body 0000 350 3500

(18 mm dia.) will be replaced by the version
0000 350 3504 (22 mm dia. with integrally molded A B
weight) to achieve a further improvement in

Parts availability B = 15 mm dia. stub
The replacement tank housings for 024 and 026 will
be supplied from the factory with the new tank vent
and the new sintered filter. The parts of the previous
tank vent (filter 1121 358 1800 and cap
1121 358 2500) remain available as spares.
