Model E 140, E 180 C Chainsaws – Series 1208
Handle Housing and Gear Housing
The connection of the chain oil port between the two
housings has been further improved from serial
number 1 51 786 723. The handle housing and
gear housing have been modified accordingly.

If the new gear housing 1208 640 0503 has to be combined with the previous handle housing 1208 790 1015
it will be necessary to shorten the centering spigot "A" on the gear housing.
. Before installing gear housing 1208 640 0503,
check dimension "b" on the handle housing.

If dimension "b" is 11.4 mm (0.449 in.): If dimension "b" is 6.4 mm (0.252 in.):
. Assemble the gear housing and handle housing
without taking any further action.

Use a hacksaw to shorten the centering
spigot "A" on the gear housing to a length of
6 mm (0.236 in.).
. Deburr and chamfer the end face.
. Clean the oil port and check for blockages.
. Assemble the gear housing and handle housing.
