On machines with serial number 3 45 750 430 and 4205 400 1006
higher, the electronic switch unit 4205 400 1002 is
used instead of the old version 4205 400 1000. This
new version limits the maximum engine speed to 1
8900 rpm, resulting in a maximum spindle speed of
5350 rpm.
The different versions of the electronic switch unit
can be recognized by the part numbers printed on 4205 400 1005
them (see Figure). The number printed on the unit
is not the same as the order number for the spare
part!

In order to improve the machine functions, the old V-belt 9490 000 7891 has been replaced by a new version
9490 000 7892. Use only the new version for repairs.

versions of the fixed jet and the control valve are
now used and modified caps are fitted on the

H and L screws. The new caps are marked with the 4
letter "D". When repairing carburetor series HS 280
and HS 281, the new versions of the parts should be

4. Decompression valve (repair note)
Before screwing in the decompression valve (new or used), apply a thread locking compound
(such as LOCTITE 272) to the threads. Tighten the valve with a torque of 20 Nm.
