On machines with serial number 1 48 730 807 and
higher, the previous tank housing 4116 350 0806
has been replaced by the new version 4116 350
0807. On this new tank housing, the aperture for
adjustment of the carburetor is larger.

3. Muffler (deflector plate)
The deflector plate in the exhaust-gas outlet of the
muffler is no longer secured with self-tapping
screws but with spline screws IS M4x10.

4. Crankcase (muffler mounting),
radiator plate
Repair note
If an previous version of the radiator plate is to be
mounted on a machine with the new crankcase,
about 5 mm of metal must be removed (by filing or
cutting) from each side of the plate (see Figure).

As of machine serial number 1 52 854 250, a
modified crankcase with longer threaded holes for
mounting the muffler is used. Together with this
modification, a slight change was made to the shape
of the radiator plate 4116 145 0600. Only radiator
plates with the modified shape are available from
the factory. The part number remains unchanged.

5. Ignition module mounting
As of machine serial number 1 48 682 482, the
spline screws IS M5x20 with captive washer are
used to secure the ignition module. The threads of
these screws contain a microencapsulated
adhesive to lock the screws in position.
Repair note
If these screws are removed during repair and are
used to secure the ignition module again, a locking
compound (such as LOCTITE 242) must be applied
to the threads.

6. Guard plate, support
The guard plate previously supplied only as a
special accessory (complete with mounting screws)
will in the future be mounted underneath the tank as
a standard part. It is secured by means of two
M5x48 and two M5x30 socket head screws, which
are fitted instead of the four M5x20 screws
securing the tank. The guard plate can also be
ordered as a spare part under the new part number 6
4116 790 7805.
Following the introduction of the guard plate as a
standard part, the support 4116 700 8400 is
no longer required underneath the clutch
housing and is eliminated, together with the
two M5x20 IS fastening screws.
