The barrier bar is supplied with loop-handled
CombiEngines so that they can be used with all
CombiTools without the need for any retrofitting.
The barrier bar must be mounted before the
CombiEngine is handed over to the customer. This
enables the customer to use his unit for all
applications.

8. Repairs
If the machine is started up in the course of
repairs, it is essential to observe all country-
specific safety regulations and the safety
precautions outlined in the instruction manual.

8.1 Service Note
A system of service manuals is available for
servicing and repairing STIHL CombiEngines and
CombiTools:

       Service Manual Service Manual
        Basic Engine Machine Components

            4140 4140
For each CombiEngine there is a service manual for
the basic engine and a service manual for the
machine components.

The chapters "Servicing the Carburetor",
"Troubleshooting" and "Standard Repairs“ are
included in the respective service manuals. See
also STIHL Service Training System "Diagnosis“.

The "Carburetors" and "Standard Repairs,

Troubleshooting" handbooks are no longer
necessary.
A separate service manual is available for servicing

and repairing the CombiTools.
This means that three service manuals are required

for a tool combination consisting of a CombiEngine
and a CombiTool.

e.g. by squeezing the throttle trigger while
unpacking or assembling the unit, the throttle cable
is no longer properly adjusted.

Most of these PDFs embed fonts with a shifted character map, so the text above was recovered rather than copied — read it as a faithful but imperfect transcription, and treat the page image above each block as the authority where the two disagree — the figures exist only there, because they are vector drawings that text extraction cannot keep.
