In order to further standardize inventories, the fan

2.2 Holes for tank vent and fuel hose 3. Carburetor
The positions of the holes for the fuel hose (1) and
the tank vent (2) have been optimized to simplify 3.1 Service note, BG 45

The stop limits the range of adjustment of the H
screw to 270 degrees (3/4 turn).
The procedure and adjustment is now as before

Use the puller 5910 890 4501 (special tool) to

Previous and new versions of the carburetor are
fully interchangeable as complete assemblies.
The shape of the flange (1) has been changed to
increase its mechanical strength. The positions of The new parts (H screw, cap, flange, metering
the holes (arrows) in the metering diaphragm (2) diaphragm and gasket) cannot be used for servicing
and the gasket (3) have been changed to suit the the previous version of the carburetor. The previous
new carburetor. versions of the parts remain available as spares
(see parts list).
Standard setting of H screw
(without cap) 4. Heat Reflecting Foil on Machines
with Catalytic Converter
. Open the H screw 1 1/2 turns
. Open the L screw 1 turn Heat reflecting foil 4229 084 8300 is fitted on the
blower housing under the muffler.
. Start the engine and open the throttle several
times – check that engine accelerates smoothly.
. If necessary, open the H screw up to another
1/4 turn.
. Position the new limiter cap for the H screw
against the rich stop and push it on as far as the
second noticeable detent position.
Do not push the cap up against the carburetor
body as it will otherwise be damaged.
