Easy2Start conversion kit
The Easy2Start conversion kit 4140 007 1017
distinctly improves the convenience of starting the
STIHL models FC 55, FS 45, FS 46, FS 55, HL 45
and KM 55. A spiral spring stores the energy when
pulling on the starter rope and passes it on to the
engine via the driver.
This yields the following advantages for the user:

. Significantly less effort is required to start the
engine.
. Individual peak forces due to compression are
no longer felt on the starter grip. The Easy2Start conversion kit comprises the
following parts:

Installation of the Easy2Start
conversion kit
Remove starter mechanism

. Unscrew starter cup
233TI040 SC
. Screw on driver
. Remove screws
. Remove starter mechanism
Remove starter cup, mount driver
233TI043 SC

. Tighten driver down with 150 in.lb. (17 Nm)
– Remove piston stop and screw in spark plug,
233TI042 SC
tighten down with 180 in.lb. (20 Nm).
Mount Easy2Start starter mechanism
– Unscrew spark plug
. Fit the Easy2Start starter mechanism
. Fit piston stop (A) 4221 893 5900
. Tighten down the screws
