MS 460 with wrap-around handle,
oil pump Oil delivery, oil tank capacity
As from serial number 1 61 013 422 onwards, the
previous oil pump 1128 640 3206 will be replaced
by version 1128 640 3250 on the MS 460 with b
wrap-around handle.
The new oil pump is identical with the
previous version except for the adjusting screw a
1128 647 4803 and pump piston 1128 647 0602.
The new oil pump delivers up to 0.2 oz. (7 cm³) more
oil per minute. This is advantageous when using
long guide bars in hard and dry timbers.

The delivery rate of the new oil pump 1128 640 3250
is almost identical with that of the previous oil pump.
Range b
Due to the higher delivery rate of the new oil pump
1128 640 3250, the oil tank may become empty
before the fuel tank, with the result that the saw
chain can run dry.
To prevent this happening:
Refill the oil tank when the fuel tank is roughly
half-full.

Machine handover, retrofit
The user's attention should be drawn particularly to
the need to check and refill the oil tank more
frequently:
. when selling a model MS 460 with wrap-around
handle and a serial number greater than
1 61 013 421;
. when retrofitting a new oil pump 1128 640 3250
in a model MS 460.

Distinguishing features of the new oil pump
. A groove runs round the full circumference of
the new pump piston 1128 647 0602.
Maintenance/repair
Note: retrofitting a machine to the higher output oil
pump is an option, available at additional cost.
Converting machines from the standard/previous oil
pump to the higher output pump should not be
claimed as a warranty repair.
