tank housing (fuel tank) and the crankcase (oil tank)
have been modified for the new caps.
1 2 Benefits
. Can be opened and closed without tools.
. Hinged clip for fast and simple operation.
. Smooth surface stays cleaner for longer.
. Very reliable function – hinged clip snaps into
3 “closed” position.

line up (see arrows).
. Rotate the cap about 1/4 turn clockwise as far Left: Previous contact spring, self-tapping screw,

Right: New contact spring, ground wire with
connector sleeve, new retainer for switch shaft
A self-tapping screw was used to secure the
previous contact spring, together with the ground
wire’s lug, to the tank housing. An upward projecting
arm on the contact spring served as a retainer for
the switch shaft.
The new contact spring fits in a slot in the tank
housing. The connector sleeve of the new ground

wire plugs into the contact spring. The switch shaft
is held in position by a separate retainer.
. Fold down the clip. 2.4 Choke Shutter in Air Filter
The tank cap is properly closed when the clip lies flat
and its lug engages the recess (see arrow above
right). If this is not the case, remove the cap and
repeat the steps described above.
