  Model MS 200, MS 200 T Chainsaws                    – Series 1129

  New Basic Carburetor Setting                        Basic Setting without Limiter Cap

  The basic setting of the carburetor 1129 120 0651
  on models MS 200 and MS 200 T has been
  changed to further improve operation.

  Service Note

  In the case of a service replacement of the
  carburetor 1129 120 0651 on an MS 200, the high
  speed screw must be corrected to H = 1 1/4.

                                                      .   Starting with the adjusting screw firmly against
                                                          its seat:

                                                          MS 200

                                                          New:    Open H = 1 1/4 turns
                                                                  Open L = 1 turn
                                                          Before: H = 1 1/8; L = 1 1/8

                                                          New:    Open H = 1 turn
                                                                  Open L = 1 turn
                                                          Before: H = 1 1/8; L = 1 1/8

                                                          Standard Setting with Limiter Cap
Adjust the specified engine speeds within a
tolerance range of +/- 200 rpm.                           The limiter caps must not be removed for the
                                                          standard setting.
1.     Use idle speed screw (LA) to set engine            .   Shut off the engine.
       speed to 3,700 rpm                                 .   Check the air filter and clean or replace as
                                                              necessary.
2.     Rotate the low speed screw (L) clockwise or
                                                          .   Check the spark arresting screen (if fitted) in the
       counterclockwise to obtain maximum engine
                                                              muffler and clean or replace as necessary.

                                                          .   Check chain tension.

If this engine speed is higher than 4,000 rpm, abort

the adjustment and start again with step 1.

3.     Use idle speed screw (LA) to set engine                             H      L

       speed to 3,700 rpm once again

4.     Use low speed screw (L) to set engine speed

       to 2,800 rpm

5.     Use high speed screw (H) to set maximum                    fo

If the setting is too lean, there is a risk of damaging   .   Rotate the high speed screw (H) counter-

Securing the Limiter Cap

Do not re-install the used cap since it is damaged
during removal.
.    Fit the new limiter cap on the H screw, lining it
     up with the rich stop (arrow).
.    Push on the cap until it butts against the
     carburetor body.
