.     Remove the chain sprocket cover

                                                          1.3       Adjusting Depth of Cut
                                                          The depth of cut can be set from a few fractions of
                                                          an inch up to 7.8 in (20 cm).

.   Push the sliding sleeve (3) over the guide.
.   Fit the star knob (4) and washer (5).
.   Tighten the screws (2).

                                                          Before adjusting the depth of cut
                                                          .     Shut off the engine
                                                          .     Engage the chain brake by pushing the hand
                                                                guard (1) toward the bar nose - the saw chain is
                                                                locked.
                                                          .     Place the saw on the ground and put your right
                                                                foot in the rear handle and press down.

.   Pull the sliding sleeve (3) forward as far as stop.
.   Tighten down the star knob (4) firmly.

                                                          .     Hold the top of the sliding sleeve with your right
                                                                hand.
                                                          .     Loosen the star knob (2) with your left hand.
                                                          .     Adjust the depth of cut (arrow).
                                                          .     Tighten the star knob firmly.
