The STIHL MSE 140 electric saw will be upgraded
with a quick chain tensioner.
As a result of this upgrade the machine will be
offered as the STIHL MSE 140 C. The previous
STIHL MSE 140 has been discontinued.
1. Chain Sprocket Cover
The new STIHL MSE 140 C will be equipped with
the chain sprocket cover already used on model
MSE 180 C which houses the quick chain tensioner
for simpler and more convenient adjustment of
chain tension.

1.2 Other Chain Tensioner Parts
The introduction of the quick chain tensioner on the
MSE 140 C means that the following chain
tensioner parts will no longer be used on this model.

The new machine is based on model MSE 140. New
spare parts are described in the Summary.
New parts documentation is available for the new
version.
4. Service Note
Previous MSE 140 saws without quick chain
tensioner can be retrofitted using the optional quick
chain tensioner parts kit 1208 007 1000.
The spiked bumper 1123 664 0501 used on model
MSE 180 C will be introduced on model
MSE 140 C. Also new is the screw 9074 478 4135
for mounting the spiked bumper.
The separate spiked bumper is necessary because
the chain sprocket cover with quick chain tensioner
projects beyond the handle housing.
