The STIHL MS 200 is a rear handled version of the 1.3 Intake Air Preheating System
MS 200 T top handle saw. With a weight of only 8.4
lbs (3.8 kg) it is the lightest STIHL professional saw
with a rear handle and rounds off the lower end of
this line.
                                                                                                    2
1. Technical Description

1.1 Differences over MS 200 T
The MS 200 uses exactly the same powerhead as
the MS 200 T. The only differences are the air filter,
tank and handle system.

1.2 Air Filter
The air filter is a large area round element with a
connector stub for the compensator and it is simple
to maintain. 1

                                                                                                                    144TI003 SC
Removing and Installing

The intake air preheating system helps reduce the
risk of the air filter and carburetor icing up at very low

. Remove the carburetor box cover
. Lift the filter and pull it away to the rear
. Press the filter base against a flat surface – this
      releases the filter cover
. Clean the filter
The connector stub for the compensator engages
automatically when the filter is installed. Apply slight
pressure so that the retaining hooks snap into
position.
