gently during the cutting action. absorbed by the chain. Depending on the chain saw
model used, vibrations can be reduced by up to 30%

1.4 Sharpening the saw chain 2. Service note
Side and top plate cutting angle of the 3/8" PMC3 The saw chain can be serviced with the rivet
chain and 3/8" Picco Micro chain are identical. The spinners and chain breakers NG 4, NG 5 and NG 7.
3/8" PMC3 chain is serviced and sharpened exactly
as the 3/8" PM chain. Replacing cutters
Repair kits "Right-hand cutter" and "Left-hand
1.5 Lowering the depth gauge cutter" are available for replacement. Each repair kit
contains five cutters and five preset tie straps.
Note the direction of running of the tie strap (arrow
head) and cutter – tie strap and cutter must be cut
clear at the back of the running surface.
Replacing tie straps
The previous tie straps (without bevelled heel) are
used when replacing tie straps between cutters.
Cutting rolls of chain to length
Tie straps without bevel at the back of the running
face are enclosed with the rolls of saw chain. The
tie straps between cutters have no influence on the
vibration-reducing function of the saw chain.

The depth gauge on the 3/8" PMC3 is lowered in
exactly the same way as on the Picco Micro chain.
When the depth gauge has been repositioned by
roughly .016 in (0.4 mm), the upper part of the
humped drive link (with service mark) must be
lowered together with the depth gauge of the cutter.
The depth gauge setting is identical with that of the
Picco Micro chain.
