FS 100 RX
The recess on the gear head of the STIHL
FS 100 RX brushcutter is designed to allow only
certain mowing heads to be mounted.
To extend the range of cutting tools for the
FS 100 RX brushcutter, modifications have been
made to the STIHL PolyCut™ 20-3 (1) mowing head
and the STIHL FixCut™ 25-2 (2) mowing head.
They will be available with different mounting
hardware in the future, under a new part number.

The recess in the dome of the mowing head has

been modified to enable the STIHL PolyCut™ 20-3 1 2
mowing head to be used with the FS 100 RX
brushcutter.
The previous version of the STIHL FixCut™ 25-2
mowing head, part number 4001 710 2131 (1) will
be replaced by the new version 4001 710 2102 (2).
The only difference between the previous version
and the new version of the mowing head is in the
mounting hardware supplied. The mowing head
itself has not been modified.

The previous top 4002 710 9600 (1) has been
replaced by new version (2) 4002 710 9601, which
has a modified shape. The new top is also
compatible with the previous versions of mowing

heads.
The part number of the mowing head has not been
changed, however. To indicate which version of
mowing head can be used with the FS 100 RX . The previous version of the mowing head
brushcutter, refer the number on the new top 4001 710 2131 is supplied complete with a
pictured above ( .... 2149). flanged lock nut (3) and thrust washer (4).
These parts may not be used to mount the
STIHL FixCut™ 25-2 on the FS 100 RX.

The new thrust pad (5) may also be used to mount
the STIHL FixCut™ 25-2 to other approved series
instead of the flanged lock nut (3) and thrust
5 washer (4).
The new thrust pad simplifies installation of the
mowing head on the machine. As before, the
appropriate combination wrench for the machine
may be used to mount and remove the mowing
head.
