A new connecting tube with a total length of 25.8 in

The handle can only be completely folded on
updated Easy2StartTM versions if the longer
connecting tube is used. The previous connecting
tube can only be used in combination with
MultiEngines without Easy2StartTM.
If the standard version is updated with the
Easy2StartTM, the pawls and carrier on the
crankshaft must be replaced in addition to the
rewind starter. The new, longer connecting tube
must also be installed.
The new connecting tube is available as a
replacement part and can be used for all versions.
The previous connecting tube is no longer available
as a replacement part.

4.       Repairs
If the machine is started in the course of repairs, it is essential to observe all safety regulations and the safety
precautions in the instruction manual.

Loosen the IS-M5x10-10.9 screw (13) and remove
the carrier (11). Do not remove the preloaded spring
from the spring housing (10) since it may pop out of
position and uncoil.

4.3      Spring
When needed, lubricate the spring (9)
1118 195 3500 with STIHL gear lubricant
0781 120 1117 or 0781 120 1118.
Remove the IS-M5x10-10.9 screw (13).
