1.1 Tank housing (MS 441)
The previous tank housing 1138 350 0803 is being
replaced by the version 1138 350 0805.
1.2 Tank housing (MS 441 C)
The previous tank housing 1138 350 0804 is being
replaced by the version 1138 350 0806.
1.2.1 Spare parts/service note
The new tank housing can also be installed in older
machines. The new tank housing will include fuel
hose 1138 350 2702 (hose between tank housing
and carburetor incl. insulating hose) which must
also be replaced at time of service (see b 1.3.1).
The previous tank housings will no longer be

available from the factory.
In the future, the tank housing will be equipped with
fuel hoses with a reduced inner diameter to further
improve warm starting behavior. An insulating hose
will also be added to the fuel hose between the tank
and carburetor.

1.3 Hose
All previous hoses are being replaced by the S-
shaped pickup hose 1138 358 7705 and the fuel
hose 1138 350 2702 incl. insulating hose. The new
hoses stand out because of their reduced inner
diameter 0.122 in (3.1 mm).

The hoses can be identified according to the

Note regarding installation of the fuel and
insulating hoses

3 . Install the fuel pickup hose into the tank housing
until the rubber lip completely surrounds the
opening
. Remove AV spring (1) on handlebar, AV
spring (2) on tank housing and buffer (3) . Install one end of the elbow connector into the
fuel hose and the other end into the fuel pickup
hose.

2. Ground wire
The previous ground wire 1138 440 2200 will be
replaced by version 1138 440 2203. l
The new ground wire includes a new cable
protector.
Spare parts/service note
Only the new ground wire is available as a spare
part. In the event of service, use only the new
ground wire 1138 440 2203.
