  1.     Fan housing, engine housing
  The previous screw assy. P6 1140 790 6101 at the
  fan-side screw connection of the front hand guard
  has been replaced by the screw assy. M5
  0000 790 6102. In conjunction with this change in                     1
  the screw assy. an M5 threaded insert has been
  inserted in the engine housing and the screw hole in
  the fan housing has been reinforced with a bushing.

1.1      Engine housing                               1.4      Service notes
The previous engine housing 1140 020 3000 has
been replaced by the version 1140 020 3001.
The new engine housing contains an M5 threaded
insert 9795 003 0353 for the screw connection of
the front hand guard. For this reason, the previous
screw assy. P6 1140 790 6101 has been replaced
by the screw assy. M5 0000 790 6102.

1.2      Fan housing

The previous fan housing 1140 080 1803 has been
replaced by the version 1140 080 1805. The new
fan housing has a bushing for the screw connection
of the front hand guard.                              The new screw assy. M5 0000 790 6102 can only

The previous engine housing 1140 020 3000 is no
longer available from the factory. The engine
housing kit 1140 020 3050 is available for machines
of the previous version.                              2.       "Hand guard" repair kit
This kit consists of:

                                                      The new screw assy. M5 0000 790 6102 can only
                                                      be combined with a fan housing in which the hole for
                                                      the screw connection of the front hand guard has
                                                      been reinforced with a bushing, see b 1. If the fan
                                                      housing does not have a bushing, then a new fan
                                                      housing must also be procured with "hand guard"
                                                      repair kit or the threaded insert M5x10
                                                      9795 003 0353.

                                                                       .   Screw the two hexagon nuts M5
                                                                           (9210 260 0700) onto the longer threaded
                                                                           shank of the stud and lock them
.     Clamp chain saw vertically using the clamping
      rail of the assembly stand                                       .   Screw the threaded insert M5x10
                                                                           (9795 003 0353) onto the stud as far as it will go
                                                                       .   Insert the other end of the stud into the drill
                                                                           chuck, but do not tighten chuck firmly. The drill
                                                                           is used only for the purpose of alignment and
                                                                           not for installing the insert
                                                                       .   Use an 8 mm wrench on the upper hexagon nut
                                                                           and screw the threaded insert clockwise into the
                                                                           engine housing as far as it will go

.     Position drill sleeve 1140 893 5800
.     Drill out the P6 thread and/or fragments using
      the center drill 0833 121 2517

                                                                       .   Loosen the locknut and unscrew the stud
                                                                       .   Mount front hand guard

.     Remove the drill sleeve and drill out the pilot
      hole using the spiral bit 7.2 mm diameter
      0833 211 4172

.       Screw the front hand guard and the fan housing
        to the bushing on the engine housing using
        screw assy. M5 (0000 790 6102)
